Not AgainEverything was quiet. His bright blue eyes shot open. He gave his eyes a minute to adjust. No. Not again. He thought as he ran his hand through his brown frizzy hair. His breathing became rapid and shallow. How can this be happening? His eyes shot closed as he held back tears. His whole body ached.
"Hello, Doctor." A voice all too familiar pierced his eardrums. His eyes shot wide open. He looked up to see the haunting image of Heather Taffet standing above him.
"No! This can't be happening! Not again!" He was completely paralyzed. He saw no restraints but felt immobile. He started to feel the invisible force push down on him, choking him. He shut his eyes as tight as he could, not that it would help his situation.
"NO!" Doctor Jack Hodgins awoke in a sweat. He wiped the beads off his face and the tears from his eyes. His breathing slowly normalized. He didn't want to admit the fear he felt. He lay in bed, still shaking off the lingering tentacles of his nightmare. It was just a dream.
